Ethel Hamilton 78 Is Heart Victim

Mrs. Ethel Hamilton passed away at her home in Moravia Sunday morning, April 9, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and three days.

Ethel May Tisue was born June 6, 1888, the daughter of Malcolm B. and Mary Ellen Jones Tisue. She joined the United Brethren Church in Moravia at the age of seventeen years.

She was married to Charlie D. Pence June 30th, 1909. One daughter, Velda Marie, Mrs. Lloyd Brown, was born to this union. Mr. Pence passed away in 1914.

She was married to L. C. Hamilton March 26, 1919. One daughter, Helen Arleta, Mrs. James McAninch, was born to this union. Her husband passed away December 8, 1959.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and one great grandchild.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Brown of Moravia and Mrs. James McAninch of Melrose; four grandchildren. Mrs. William Parson of Clarks Summit, Pa. Jerry Brown of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Connie Adams of Centerville, and Max McAninch of Moravia; and eleven great grandchildren; also one brother, Harley Tisue of Moravia; as well as a host of relatives and friends.

She was a kind and loving mother and did not want to be a burden to anyone. She had experienced unusually good health. She enjoyed the visits of her grandchildren, and also the friends who called on her.

Funeral services were conducted in Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren church, with Rev. J. A. Ogden officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mason sang, "Sweet Hour of prayer", and "Beyond the Sunset.", accompanied by Mrs. Carl Van Zante, pianist. Pallbearers were Clifford Tisue, Rex Tisue, Carl Tisue, Ray Chance, Russell Simbro and Dick DeHaii.

Burial was in the Moravia cemetery, Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
