Hila Horstman

Hila Horstman, 89, of rural Centerville died Thursday, Dec. 28, 1989 at her home north of Centerville.

She was born in Rathbun to John and Margaret Dykes McDonald on Oct. 30, 1900. On Dec. 25, 1919, she married John Horstman in Centerville. He preceded her in death in July of 1961.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Mary Margaret Long; four brothers, George, Bert, Clyde and Frank; and one sister, Jessie.

Survivors include one daughter Norma June (Mrs. Bob) Evans of Centerville; one son-in-law, Bill Long of Moravia; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary A. (Maude) McDonald of Centerville.

She had lived her entire life in the Centerville area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel Chapel Church in Centerville and a former member of the ETC Club of Moravia.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30th at 1:30 p.m. at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home with Pastor John Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville. A memorial has been established to the Gospel Church and may be left at the funeral home.
