ANNIVERSARY EVENT
•The handsome country home and farmstead or Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Horn, four miles southeast of Moulton, evening of Oct. 5th, was a scene of social life and good cheer long to be remembered by the over 225 present. The occasion was the 40th wedding anniversary of mine host—when J. Siguor Horn led Miss Tody Lynch to the marriage altar for better or for worse
—and all the signs Indicate that it was the best thing that ever happened to them.
On the above date, neighbors came from far and near (altho they used to go a foot or a horse back—40 years ago); this year they came in fine Lizzies and high varnished autos—and all dressed in their Sunday togs—made the large assembly a memorable one. The writer was there and shook hands with the men folks and said howdy to the gals and bashfully squeezed the hands of a few.
Refreshments were served (Doc Lynch, of Moravia, being the sandwich man), and there were a few talks and some music and some dancing by the older sot who just couldn't forget the frolics of 40 years ago.
Grandma Wm. Lynch was present and so many Horns the clerk couldn't count 'em. A lot of valuable presents were presented the bride and groom and at a late hour all departed, satisfied that Signor and wife were good entertainers.
