MARRIED 40 YEARS
The 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Cox was celebrated at the home of their son Burt, on Thursday, Sep. 23,1920, over in Wells
t'p. A host of relatives and friends brot in the glad eats and a great feast was enjoyed. Those present were: L. M. Cox and wife, Don Gregory
and wife. Ross Gregory and wife and son Keithe, John Kirby and wife, C.E. Gregory and wife and son Ralph, R.S. Jamison and wife, Dewey Wallace and wife, Fred Gravett and wife and Lester, T. W. Morrow and wife, Rolla Morrow and wife, Clayton Stansberry and wife and son Max, Sant Spurgeon and wife, Mrs. Jennie Craig and daughters Charlotte and Louise, Mrs. Palmer, of Ottumwa; Mrs. Mabel Reeves, Aunt Sarah Cox, Eva Barnes, Pauline Henderson, Frank Heisel and Bert Cox and family.
Aunt Sarah Cox was the only one present who was present at the wedding 40 years ago; ‘tho an helpless invalid Aunt Sarah recalls the past very clearly. All report a pleasant time, with the hope that all be alive and kickin' a year hence. Later, it was revealed that Tom Morrow and John Kirby got away with 15 1bs each at the table, but both announced the next day they
were ready for another fat layout.
