Chas. Hutchek
Receives Letter
From P. O. W.

The following letter was received the past week by Chas Hutchek from his grandson, Cpl. J. C. Gallagher, who is a prisoner of war in Korea.
POW Camp No. 3
North Korea.

Dear Grandpop:
How are you and grandma doing these days. I am fine and hope you are, too. I am writing from a POW camp in Korea. I don't know if you
still live in Moulton but I am taking a chance and writing anyway. How is little Babe. He must be at least 17 or 18 by now. I hope he has
sense enough to stay out of the army. If the draft catches up with him tell him to join the Navy or Airforce. It is better than the Army
although it would be all the better if he stays out of the service altogether especially since he is there on the farm.
How is Pearl and his wife these days. I still remember when we fixed his house for him. I doubt if he remembers me but give him my
regards anyway. By the way, did you ever find your rabbit trags after I left last time. If not look on that little strip of land at the entrance of the dirt road. That is where I set them. We have plenty of time to think around
here and I got to thinking about the time I was there and wondering if I gave you back the traps. Since we are given the opportunity to
write thought I would write. Not that I didn't ride the cow. I would just like to know who told you that for I really did enjoy my stay there
with you and grandma. Well, I'll close for now.
Love,
Jimmy Gallagher

It's interesting to note that a part of the return address on the envelope had the line "Committee for Defending World Peace" prominently defined in foreign hand.
