In Response To: Mays Prairie Cemetery (Steve Fischer)

Steve -
I believe you probably need a plot map of Mays Prairie cemetery that shows the individual grave locations. Unfortunately I don't know if one exists somewhere or even if such a plot map ever existed. You might try contacting one of the funeral homes in either Lansing or Waukon. Although they probably don't have a burial map, they 'might' know who does have one. They might know who the sexton/caretaker of the cemetery is.

Dale Woodmasee's book shows only 2 Fischer burials in Mays Prairie - an infant Marie b & d 1865 (the name on the stone is Marie Magdaline Fischer; and Anna E. Fischer's gravestone. Both are pictured on Find a Grave, but I don't know if the photographer unstacked them from the pile of 4 stones to take the photos.

Hopefully someone else will be able to help you out more than I'm able to.
