Joan - I searched the Lansing newspaper archive for any mention of your grandfather. Found 2 little articles, nothing else. You could try searching for him possibly using a name of another relative or even a different spelling (example: Nanek or Nenek or Nenik) The newspapers were like the census, sometimes they got spellings all wrong.
