Nellie Ingmundson was a schoolteacher who lived in Allamakee County with her parents Johannes and Caroline Wendelboe Ingmundson. Her parents later moved to LeRoy, Mower County, MN. I suspect "Nellie" was a nickname for Helen or Ellen. Her given name was likely Marie. As far as I know she was not married, was born in Norway in Jan 1836.

I recently published a book on Amazon, "Village Creek Diaries" of Caroline Ingmundson Cavers, the sister of "Nellie". The diaries started in 1867 with the last entry in Nov. 1900. Many, Many surnames of people who live in Village Creek and Allamakee County were mentioned.
