Wife of John Hammerberg

Trying to find out what happened to Helena Christina Hammerberg. She was the wife of Jonas (John) Hammerberg, both were born in 1814 in Sweden. They immigrated through New York on the 19 of June 1869. Eventually they settled in Center twp. in Allamakee County. The last record I have of Helena is in the 1870 Federal Census with John. In the 1880 Census he is living with a daughter but it does not indicate weather he is married or widowed. John is buried in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery but Helen is no where to be found. I wondered if she got homesick and returned to Sweden. It happens sometimes, one stays and the other goes back. I have even visited the Allamakee County Clerks Office. I have found John's death record but nothing on Helen. This is perplexing as both were 55 years old when they immigrated. Can't imagine her straying too far.
