JOHN LAIRD SR, his wife MARY WILLIAMSON and their son JOHN LAIRD JR emigrated from New Aberdour, Aberdeen, Scotland to Postville, Allamakee County abt 1855. Initially they stayed with her brother JAMES WILLIAMSON until settling onto their own farm or other property. JOHN LAIRD lived to be over 100, d 7 Nov 1884 in Postville. MARY WILLIAMSON LAIRD, b 1814 Fraserburgh, Scotland, and d 10 Nov 1888 in Postville. JOHN LAIRD JR d at 13 in 1864. All are buried in Postville Cemetery, Clayton Co. Mary's brother JAMES WILLIAMSON of Fraserburgh, Scotland emigrated much earlier and m ELSPIT ELLA GILLEN of Scotland, widow of ALEXANDER GILLEN also of Scotland.
