Marriage records show Thomas E. Steele (age 24) married Jessie M. Marsden (age 19) in Waukon on 1/8/1902.

I found no divorce record with my limited research, but the 1905 IA State census Allamakee county, gives her marital status as widowed. But on her Feb. 1918 marriage license issued in Cascade co. Montana, she indicates a previous marriage ended in divorce. Subsequent census show her with her new husband in Montana.

Likewise, Thomas remarried:

1920 U.S. Census, Minneapolis, Hennepin co. MN; Thomas E. Steele age 40, wife Mabel (35y), son Burton (9y), daughter Eleanor (3y); employed as a driver for a transfer company

1930 U.S. Census, Minneapolis, Hennepin co. MN; Thomas Steele age 50, wife Mabel (45y), son Burton (19y), daughter Eleanor (13y); employed as a teamster for a transfer company

1940 U.S. Census, Minneapolis, Hennepin co. MN; Thomas Steele age 60, wife Mabel (55y), daughter Eleanor (23y); employed on a road maintenance project

World War II Draft card dated 5/26/1942, for Thomas Edward Steele, b. 12/02/1879 in Waukon, IA; employed by the W.P.A. National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN

Minnesota Death Index has Thomas E. Steele dying on 8/7/1952.
