Hi Gayle, My grandfather Louis Lenz was born in LaCrosse where he married my grandmother Florence (or Flossie) (nee Tillitson). Louis' father was john or Johann Lenz (or Lentz) who came from Tirol in Austria in about 1885 - 1887. I have the recept for $200 for the purchase, by Louis, of the barbershop supplies of E. C. Boftz (?? spelling), dated June 17, 1919 in New Albin. I wonder if there is anyone in the New Albin area named Boftz or Boltz or some similar name.

I am anxious to hear if your John Lenz has roots which might intersect my great grandfather John Lenz or if he can shed any light on the years Louis and Flossie lived in New Albin. (One of the few items I have from those days is a photo of my dad Eddie and my uncle Joe (as youngsters) with their twin calves in New Albin.)
