In Response To: Four Mile School (Errin Wilker)

Hi Errin,

it might possibly be the brick school on Hwy 9. I have an article called the 12 mile house. It was an article about Matthew Marsden and his wife Mary Sweeney Marsden building the house in 1860 and designing the school. I believe the home was also known as the Troendal home in later years. The school is not too far from the house which both are still standing. It was named the twelve mile house because it was twelve miles from the Mississippi. I have the article if you would like a copy.
