Trying to find out where I lived in Lansing

We lived in Lansing in the year 1947. My parents must have rented a house. All I remember was that there was a gully across the street from where we lived where everybody dumped their garbage. The dump was poisoned for rats I guess and neighborhood dogs kept getting into the poison. Anybody remember this? Does anybody know the name of the street. I want to visit Lansing next summer and would like to know where we lived.
