William & Ann (Faulkner) Sires - Bulman

FAULKNER, SIRES, BULMAN

I'm researching Ann (Faulkner) Sires-Bulman, my 3rd great-grandmother. She was first married to Joseph Sires who died in 1852. She married William Bulman in 1854 in Gibson County, Indiana. They moved to Union City Township, Allamakee County, where they remained until their deaths, Ann in 1875 and William in 1894.

She had 5 children with Joseph Sires, and 4 with William Bulman. Four of her 9 children preceded her in death.

Ann was the daughter of Joseph Faulkner who also lived and died in Allamakee County.

I'm at a brick wall in researching the Faulkner name. I believe the Faulkner's came from Staffordshire, England, but can't find much more information than that, including when/where she married Joseph Sires, and when/where she came to the USA. Her first child was born in 1842 in Indiana, and she and Joseph are listed on an 1851 Indiana census. That's the first info I have on them in America.

Can anyone help?
