Sandy, Obits as we know them today did not exist back then except for more prominent citizens of the locale. Often it was just a one or two line entry anywhere in the newspaper announcing the event. Could say tho, something like xyz Burgess was in town last week to attend the funeral,,,,,,. Might contact the Allamakee co gene society for newspapers in that time period. Dick
