LIFE OF VENERABLE RESIDENT CLOSES.
Gilbert Hanson, one of the pioneer residents of this vicinity, passed to his eternal rest at his home on Round Prairie, Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, 1924. In 1867 with his wife and two small children he arrived in this country, making the trip across the ocean in a sailing ship which occupied 13 weeks time. His wife, who was Miss Audrine (correction - Andrine) Nelson (also called Taerningen), preceded him in death on May 24, 1920. Their surviving children are
Mrs. Henry Eldridge (Belle Hanson),
Mrs. Gilbert Smedsrud (Hannah Hanson),
H. A. Hanson,
J. M. Hanson,
of Waukon; and
Mrs. A. G. Bakkum (Agnete Hanson)
of Fosston, Minn.
