Mrs. George Campbell passed away at her home here early Saturday morning following an illness of several weeks duration.

Mary Kurk was born Oct. 27, 1875 in Union City township. On Feb. 10, 1891 she was united in marriage to August Kurk at Eitzen. To this union were born six children, three daughters, Mrs. J. W. (Gusta) Hayes, Prairie du Chien, Wis., Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Verthein and Mrs. Leo (Mathilda) Verdon, Lansing; two sons, Walter, Eau Clair, Wis., and Frank, St. Paul, who survive her, also 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Louise Wright.

A second marriage followed the death of her first husband, Mr. George Campbell becoming her husband Oct. 28, 1912, who also survives.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Peter’s Evangelical church. The Rev. F. Bemberg officiated. Burial was made in St. John’s cemetery at Wheatland. Casket bearers were: Emil Weymiller, Leslie Reiser, Leonard Crowley, Peter Hosch, Fred Lager and Floyd Pottratz.

This is Mary Kurk who married her cousin, August H. Kurk. After August's death she married George Campbell.
