MR. JONATHAN LEWIS
Tenderly cared for to the last by the loving hands of his niece, Mrs. A. H. Gast, Mr. Jonathan Lewis entered his long, last sleep Monday of last week.
Mr. Lewis was born in Harrison county, Ohio, January 5, 1823, and his boyhood and early manhood were spent in his native state. In 1874 he was married to Miss Linnie Grimes but his married life was of short duration, his wife passing away a few months later.
After her death Mr. Lewis came to Iowa to join his sisters Mems. Wm and John Kelly and for the past ten years has made his home with his niece Mrs. Gast.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the home conducted by Rev. Nickless of the Rossville Presbyterian church, with interment in the Dunn cemetery near Mr. Lewis' late home. The Waukon Standard, Thursday, March 25, 1909 Pg1
