Creighton “Craig” Creager

Creighton “Craig” C. Creager, 77, of DeSoto, Wis., passed away Friday, August 5, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., due to complications from an automobile accident nearly one year ago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Retreat Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing.

Craig was born October 30, 1927, in Sumner, Iowa, the son of Harry and Nina (Churchill) Creager.

He married Elizabeth June Konichek January 9, 1982, at St. Charles Church in Genoa. He worked 33 years for White Farm Implement in Charles City, Iowa, retiring in 1992. Then he and June moved to DeSoto. Most recently, he worked in maintenance at Wal-Mart. He loved gardening, fishing, and telling stories.

His family appreciates the care he received from Gundersen-Lutheran, St. Francis, and Thornton Manor Nursing Home during his courageous struggle to recover.

He is survived by his wife, June of DeSoto; five children, Debra (Barry) Pritchett of Tracy, Calif., Christopher Konichek of DeSoto, Mary (Jack) Mahnke of Milwaukee, Wis., Jo Elizabeth Konichek of DeSoto, and MSG Joseph (Julie) Konichek of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Nikki, Nina, Christine, Joshua, Ashley, Heather, Cassie, Chelsea, and Michael; one great-granddaughter, Deja; and a brother, Richard (Lorraine) Creager.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Konichek.

Casketbearers will be family members.
