Leo Waters dies in 94th year

Leo J. Waters, 94, of Spring Grove, died Monday, January 16, 1995, at Tweeten Lutheran Hospital, Spring Grove.

He was born October 28, 1900 to George and Louise Kirk Waters at New Albin, Ia.

He was a farmer and a farm laborer. He and his brother, Ed, remained at home, where they kept their parents for many years. He retired from farming and made his home with his sister in Spring Grove in 1974. He also did carpenter work with his dad and enjoyed hunting and playing cards with friends and relatives.

In May 1984, he became a resident of Tweeten Lutheran Convalescent Home in Spring Grove.

He is survived by his sister, Myrtle Evenmoe, Spring Grove.

Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his sisters, Pearl Henry, Mayme Fink, Rose Miles, Lucy Schulte and Lillian Henry, and brothers, Martin, Edward and George Waters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 19, at 1 p.m., at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pastor Thomas H. Laufer officiated. Roble Funeral Home, Spring Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
