Charles Batteen Died, Wisconsin

Funeral services were held at Wood, Wis., Tuesday for Charles Batteen, 55, who died at the Veterans' hospital at Wood after an illness. He was well known here, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Batteen, of Lansing. He served in World War I with the Lansing contingent, and went to Sparta, Wis., after the war to engage in farming.

He leaves his wife and two daughters, June Batteen of Minneapolis and Mrs. Janelle Henderson of Madison, Wis., and two grandchildren. Sisters remaining are Mrs. Henry Rettinger of Lansing and Mrs. Otelia Schendel of Sparta, Wis., and a brother August Batteen of Caledonia. Three brothers and two sisters preceeded him.
