Rites Are Held For Frieda Martens

Frieda Lariene Martens who passed away at the University Hospital in Iowa City Saturday, was born October 13, 1901 in Winneshiek county and spent most of her life in the Clermont area. She passed away at the age of 60 years, eight months, and two days. Frieda Meisner was united in marriage to Henry Albert Martens from Cresco on February 22, 1921.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her step-father, William Boars.

Mrs. Martens is survived by her husband Henry; her sister, Carrie Green; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted from the Schutte funeral home in Postville on Monday, July 2, with the Rev. Ray A. Holmquist officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
