Lester Martens

Lester Martens, 76, died at his home in Oelwein June 19. He was a former resident of Postville.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie (Heins) Martens; one son, Palmer, Hot Springs, S. D.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Mayer and Mrs. Lyle Johnson, both of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Curtis Faldet of Decorah; two sisters, Mrs. Clinton Smith and Mrs. Harold Turner, both of Postville; two brothers, Art Martens of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Edward Martens of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday, June 21, 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Oelwein. Burial was in the Floral Hills Cemetery. Brant-Kerns Funeral Home, Oelwein, handled arrangements.
