DORCHESTER YOUTH DIES IN HOSPITAL

JAMES BLAKE SUCCUMBS TO PERITONITIS AFTER SIX DAYS ILLNESS

The John Blake family of Dorchester was plunged into sorrow this morning when James J., 15 year old boy of the family passed away at the Waukon hospital after an illness of only six days. James was taken ill on Thursday of last week. he continued to grow worse and was brought to the local hospital yesterday. Examination by physicians revealed that he was suffering from ruptured appendix and that his condition was so serious that an operation was impossible. he was given every possible care and relief, but death claimed him about eight o'clock this morning from peritonitis which resulted from the reptured appendix.

James J. Blake was born at Dorchester on Sept 4, 1916. He attended the New Galena rural school and finished the eighth grade. Since finishing his schooling he had worked with his father on the home farm.

He is survived by his sorrowing parents and seven sisters and four brothers, namely, William of Chicago, mrs. Francis Duffy, Mrs. Joe Mauss, Helen, Patricia, Mrs. Henry Larson, Mrs. Donald Hegeman, John Jr., Beatrice, Patrick and Francis, all of Dorchester.

The funeral services will be held at nine o'clock Friday morning from St. Mary's church, Dorchester. Mr. and Mrs. William Blake of Chicago are expected here to attend the funeral.
