Mary Muchow

Funeral services for Mary Muchow were held Thursday, Sept. 23, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Reverend David Nelson officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Mary Anna Muchow, daughter of Henry and Regina (Preis) Saueressig, was born March 22, 1910 at Monona, Iowa. She died Monday, Sept. 20, 1982 at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah, Iowa.

She attended the Monona School. On Nov. 12, 1926 she was married to Joe Muchow at Lincoln, Neb. They lived at Lincoln where he was employed by the Burlington Railroad and then farmed in the Postville, Castalia, McGregor and Luana area since 1935. She had been living near Luana and moved to Mabel, Minnesota in October of 1981.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1980, and two grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Joe E. of Ravensdale, Wash., and Donald of Luana, three daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Norma Jean) Mellick of Lansing, Mrs. Roger (Mary Ann) Kugel of Waukon, and Mrs. Charles (Alice May) Kimber of Mabel, Minn., 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, three brothers, Edwin Saueressig of Columbus, Ind., Kenneth Saueressig of New Castle, Colo. and Ralph Saueressig of Fredericksburg.
