Mrs. OLVIN (Ella McClintock) LARSON

Ella McClintock Larson, age 92, of Homer, Minn., died Mon., Dec. 1, 2003, at her home. Funeral services were Sat., Dec. 6 at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel, Winona, Minn., with Rev. Jeff Franko officiating. Burial was in Pickwick Cemetery, Pickwick, Minn.

Ella was born June 25, 1911, in Rossville, Iowa, to Edmund and Hannah Gjefle McClintock. She attended school in Rossville and Waterville, Iowa.

She married Olvin C. Larson Sept. 21, 1937, at St. Olaf, Iowa. They farmed in Iowa until moving to Witoka, Minn., in 1951. They later moved to Homer in 1956.

Ella was a member of Central Lutheran Church.
She joined the Rebekah Lodge on June 25, 1929, on her 18th birthday at Rossville. She dropped out for awhile to raise her family and was reinstated April 3, 1974, at Wenonah Rebekah Lodge No. 7, Winona. Ella was a past district president and past district deputy president. She was also past noble grand and secretary to Wenonah Lodge until it closed and was active on its installation team. Ella received the Decoration of Chivalry on August 10, 1980. The jewel was part of her husband's dream and Olvin was able to see the jewel she received. Ella joined the Lady's Auxiliary Patriarch Militant and is past president from 1991 to 1992 of the association. Ella served six years on the Camp Board for the Odd Fellow and Rebekahs and helped with many projects at Gorman Lake, which Ella felt were beneficial to the order. In June of 2001, she joined the Independent Order of Odd Fellows by initiation.

She was preceded in death by her husband on November 6, 1980; her parents; a brother, Sidney; and grandson, Carlos Alitz.

Survivors include three sons, Deryl (Rita) Larson of Big Fork, Minn., Olvin Jr. (Clarice) "Chris" Larson of Pickwick, Minn., and Allen (Linda) Larson of Winona; two daughters, Harriet (David) Kahl of Le Center, Minn., and Rosaria (Orly) Mullens of Sherman, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leo (Katie) McClintock of Rice Lake, Wis.; a sister, Beulah (Beacher) Bollman of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; and sister-in-law Ruth McClintock of Decorah.

Casketbearers were William Alitz, Mike Calhoun, Craig Calhoun, Dustin Larson, David Larson, and Ralph Olson.

A memorial is being established.
