EMIL ARNDT DIES OF HEART ATTACK SUNDAY JUNE 21

BURIED AT MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY, MASON CITY, IA.

Services were held at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wednesday at 2 P.M. for Emil Henry Arndt, 72. Mr. Arndt suffered a heart attack Saturday night and was taken to the Mercy Hospital, Mason City, where he died about 6:30 A.M. Sunday, June 21, [1964].

Rev. Amedoe Fredette officiated, burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Mrs. Svend Andersen and Mrs. Able Andersen arranged the flowers. Mrs Roy Kraupa accompanied by Miss Cathy Christiansen, organist, sang "Going Down The Valley" and "How Great Thou Art". Garrett Brierly, Vic Mathers, Roy Kraupa, Chris Paulsen, Chris Sorrenson and Ellsworth McNamara served as pall bearers. The Sheckler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Arndt was born at Rockwell, Iowa, February 26, 1892, the son of John and Sophie Arndt and lived there until moving to Nora Springs vicinity about 18 years ago. He received his schooling at the Rockwell Public School. He was member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Rockwell and Rock Lodge 294 of Nora Springs. He was engaged in farming all of his life.

On September 27, 1913, he was married to Clara Schroeder, Castalia and they were parents of eleven children.

Surviving him are his wife, seven sons, Delbert, Velder and Roger of Mason City; Lloyd, Nora Springs; Robert, Rockford, IL.; John, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Darrell, St. Cloud, Minn.; two daughters: Mrs. George (Clara Mae) Smith, Mason City and Mrs. William (Shirley) Paulsen, Elk River, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Lou (Sophie) Mundt, Rockwell; 37 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, three sisters and three brothers.
