Anna Lee Beucher, daughter of William and Kathryn (Lee) Cole, was born March 1, 1891 at McGregor, Iowa. She passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 1990 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa.
At the age of three, Anna moved to Postville with her parents, where her father continued his dental practice. She was graduated from Postville High School with the class of 1908, and she continued her education by attending both the University of Wisconsin at Madison and Grinnell College. Anna often assisted her father with his dental practice, which was located above the Citizens State Bank.
On November 10, 1914 she was married to Leo O. Beucher at Postville, Iowa. To this union three children were born. The couple lived their entire life in Postville.
Anna was active in the community. She was a member of the Croquet Club, Shakespeare Club, and had served as President of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter FT. In her later years, Anna continued her involvement by traveling all over the world.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo, two brothers, Harry Cole, D.D.S. and William Cole and two grandchildren, Terry Beucher and David Sonnkalb.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn and her husband Charles Sonnkalb of Colorado Springs, CO; two sons, Charles Beucher of Monument, CO and Alan Beucher and his wife, Joyce, of Carle Place, Long Island, NY. There are seven grandchildren, Peter J. Beucher, Susan Cady, Scott and Stephen Sonnkalb, Charles Beucher JR, Jackie Wade, Patrice Eilts and 15 great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the Community Presbyterian Church Women.
