WILL DARLING - died 1941

In a letter written by Miss Cora Darling of Waterloo, to Mrs. Ray Douglass, it is learned that Will Darling, 76, a former Postville resident passed away at his home in Boise, Idaho on Tuesday, October 21, 1941. Mr. Darling was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Darling and was born at Hardin, Iowa. He spent his early childhood in Postville, attending the Postville Public Schools, afterward going to Upper Iowa University at Fayette and finishing his commercial course at Sterling, Ill. He was a boyhood chum of Dr. John R. Mott and they remained life long friends. Mr. Darling married to Miss Lillian Laughlin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Laughlin, in 1894. He is survived by three children, Grace, now in Shanghai, China, where she teaches in the Mary Farnham School; Dorothy, Mrs. Max Halsey of Orange, Conn.; and Charles, an attorney in Boise, with whom he made his home; also his sister, Miss Cora Darling and Mrs. Bessie Rickert, both of Waterloo, Iowa.
