Mrs. RUDOLPH (Lena E. Boese) EVERMAN
Funeral services for Lena Everman were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. David H. Palm officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
Lena Elizabeth Everman, daughter of Robert and Sophie (Bergman) Boese, was born Sept. 19, 1897 in Germany. She died Nov. 23, 1983 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
She was baptized as an infant and confirmed on April 16, 1911 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Her family came directly to this community from Germany in 1906.
On March 26, 1919 she was married to Rudolph F. Everman. To this union a son, Lloyd, was born. They farmed in the Postville area until the fall of 1946 when they moved to town. They had lived on the farm on the west edge of Postville for the last 15 years of their farming career.
Lena was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the LCW.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Aug. 11, 1974; a son, Lloyd; two brothers, William and Henry Boese; a sister, Anna Gordon; and a half-brother, Robert Boese, Jr.
Surviving are a grandson, Kenneth Everman, Postville; two great granddaughters, Erica and Carrie; six half-brothers: Leo and Frank, Postville, Harold, Galveston, TX, John, Hasting, NB, Edward, Davenport, and Donald, Waukon; two half-sisters: Dorothy Johnson, Postville and Katerine Glick, Olin.
