Mrs. MARTIN (Alta Lucille Sphar) Kneeskern FISCHER 1891-1970

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 10, 1970 at 10:30 a.m., at the Reining-Wisch Funeral Home at Janesville, Wis., for Mrs. Alta Fischer, 78, who died at her home Jan. 8, 1970. The Rev. I. T. Droegemueller officiated.

Alta Lucille Sphar, daughter of John and Sarah McHoes Sphar, was born Oct. 8, 1891 at Castalia where she attended the public school. She was married in 1909 to Frank Kneeskern and spent her early years of married life in Castalia.

In 1935, following the death of her mother, she moved to Racine, Wis., and later to Janesville, where she was employed at the Parker Pen Co., until her retirement in 1949.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Willard Bollman) and Grace (Mrs. Allen Green), her brother Burdell Sphar, her husband Frank Kneeskern, all of Castalia and her husband, Martin Fischer of Janesville.

She is survived by a son, John Kneeskern, Janesville, with whom she made her home and a number of nephews and nieces. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Janesville and burial was in Milton Lawns Memorial Park at Janesville.
