Mrs. HERMAN (Luella Casten) GEICK

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Postville for Mrs. Herman Geick, 65, who passed away suddenly at her home Friday, June 22. The Rev. Charles E. Witt conducted the final rites. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Luella Casten Geick, daughter of Henry Casten and Mathilda Foels Casten, was born August 14, 1890 in Postville. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at an early age, and was confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Church of Postville by the Rev. Bockelman on April 16, 1905. She passed away at her home very suddenly on June 22, 1956, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and eight days.

She was married to Herman Geick of Rock Rapids, on February 8, 1928 and for a number of years they made their home in Rock Rapids. In 1938 they moved to Postville to make their home.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and also of the Women of the Church. She was also a member of Zilpha Rebekah Lodge of Rock Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Violette, who passed away in 1910.
