DIED. Mrs. Ruth Emma Jane, wife of Wm. GIRTON and only daughter of James and Margaret MATHER, died at the home of her parents, near Postville, January 26th, 1885. She was born Sept. 14, 1861, and was called away under peculiarly sorrowful surroundings, leaving her young husband and infant daughter only a few weeks old, besides her aged father and mother, whom she had fondly hope to care for in their declining years. Mrs. GIRTON professed the religion of Christ several years ago at Hardin and joined the M.E. Church.

Infant child of Wm. GIRTON died Feb. 2nd, 1885. Funeral on the 4th.
