Mrs. HENRY (Rose Etta Stock) HAGER 1895-1968

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, 1968 at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Ludlow township for Mrs. Rose E. Hager, of rural Postville, who passed away July 9, 1968, at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon. She had been in ill health for many years.The Rev. Gehrald Riesen officiated at the 2:00 p.m. services at the church, and burial was in the Frankville cemetery.

Rose Etta Stock was born September 13, 1895 in Key, Ohio, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Roach Stock. When a child they moved to Iowa where they lived in Allamakee and Winneshiek counties. On May 3, 1916, she was united in marriage with Henry Hager in Frankville. To this union, six children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three children, Dorothy, in infancy, Lester and Arlene; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Hattie Stock) Lower; two brothers, William and Earl Stock; her stepmother, and four grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, two sons, Elmer W. and Donald H.; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Guese, all of Postville; one brother, John M. Stock of Sioux City; ten grandchildren and one great grandson.

Mrs. Hager was a member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and was educated in the rural schools of Allamakee County.
