New Albin---- Walter S. Hartley, 77, died Sunday April 29, at his home in Dubuque. Funeral services were held at Eagle Point cemetery there Tuesday, May 1.

Mr. Hartley had served the Milwaukee railroad for 53 years, retiring in 1951. He was a native of Dorchester, where he was born June 2, 1878, son of George and Ellen Fahey Hartley. He lived in New Albin part of his life.

Mathilda Grimms and Walter Hartley were married July 7, 1905. She remains, as do four daughters: Mrs. M. R. Frohn, Mrs. Stanley Mers, Mrs. E. J. Markward and Mrs. Herbert Hauth of Dubuque, and one son, Sumner, who lives in Wisconsin Rapids. There are eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. R. H. Kearney of La Crosse.
