Mrs. Joseph Hecker Passes Away Friday

Funeral Services Held On Monday Forenoon

Mrs. Joseph Hecker, 56, a lifelong resident of Postville, passed away last Friday afternoon following an illness of three years. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bridget's Catholic church in this city with the Rev. Peter Stoll of Dubuque reading the requiem mass. Interment was at Postville cemetery.

As Alice Thill, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thill, Mrs. Hecker was born November 12, 1886, in Postville. She attended the Postville public schools, and after graduating from high school she taught for several years in the rural schools in this community.

She was married to Joseph Hecker on April 25, 1911, and to them a son and a daughter were born, both passing away in infancy. Surviving her are her husband, two brothers, William Thill of Minneapolis, Minn., and John Thill of Dubuque, one sister, Mrs. J. E. Horgan of Postville, and 13 nephews and nieces.

Out of town relatives coming to attend the funeral were John Thill and son, Charles; Mrs. A. C. Kane and Mrs. George Rice, all of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Steele of Marengo; Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Moody of Excelsior, Minn.; Mrs. Harry Dasher of Waukon, and Mrs. Russell Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana.
