Julius Heins Passes Suddenly Tuesday

To Hold Funeral Service Friday Afternoon at 2:00

The community was shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Julius Heins on Tuesday noon. He had gone to the Haddlestad service station for gasoline and after completing the transaction he dropped over dead. Mr. Heins was 65 years old and had been a resident here since 1914. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. F. R. Ludwig officiating and interment will be in Postville cemetery.

Julius Henry Heins was born on September 10, 1877, at Luana, Clayton county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Heins. He was baptized on June 16, 1878, at Postville by Rev. J. Gass, and was confirmed here Mar. 22, 1891. He lived with his parents on the farm near Luana and was married to Miss Caroline Lahrs in Read township on February 12, 1907, and the couple continued to live on the Heins farm until 1914 when they moved to Postville.

For 18 years he was employed in the implement business here, for 11 years with B. C. Fleming, and for seven years with J. T. Humphrey, during which period he made many friends among the farmers of this community. In recent years he was the local representative of the Rawleigh company.

He is survived by his widow and four sisters, Mrs. Louise Lindroth and Mrs. Amelia Roth of Monona, Mrs. Sophia Lindroth of Luana and Mrs. Emma Lubbers of Dubuque. Two brothers and a sister, Edward and John Heins and Mrs. Ella Voelzke, passed away some years ago.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church of this city.
