JOHN E. HORGAN 1877-1956

Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Bridget's Church in Postville for John E. Horgan, 78, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Carney, at Perry on April 27, 1956, following a lingering illness. The Rev. F. J. Vallaster officiated at the Requiem Mass and also at graveside services at St. Peter's Cemetery at Clermont.

John E. Horgan was born in Postville, Iowa, May 18, 1877, the son of Patrick and Mary Garvey Horgan. He passed away April 27, 1956 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Carney, in Perry, Iowa. He was married to Mame Thill of Postville on April 26, 1910. Mrs. Horgan preceded him in death as did one son.

Survivors include one sister, Mame E. Horgan of Grand Forks, North Dakota; two daughters, Jean (Mrs. Harry Carney) of Perry, Iowa, and Loretta (Mrs. Russell L. Brown) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and six grandchildren.
