DIED. At his residence in Postville, Nov. 7th, 1884, John LAIRD, age 100 years. Rev. FERNER in conducting the service, showed that to the temperate, the virtuous and the righteous belong the prize of accumulated years, with its physical and mental activities. Deceased was a native of Aberdour, Scotland, has lived in this country for 80 years. His life was simple. No disease or suffering marked his dissolution; like the wheels of the clock that have run their allotted time, stop when their work is done, so he, amid the glory of an autumnal afternoon folded his hands across his heart, and peacefully passed away; dying as he had lived, in the hope of a blissful immortality.
