Mrs. WILLARD S. (Effie Mae Miller) LIVINGOOD

Funeral services were held at the Community Presbyterian Church on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. for Effie M. Livingood, 68, who passed away at Postville Hospital on November 6, following a lingering illness. The rites were in charge of Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Community Church. Burial was in Smith's cemetery.

Born In Ludlow Effie M. Livingood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, was born in Ludlow township, Allamakee county, July 13, 1885. She passed away Friday, November 6, at the age of 68 years, at the Postville Hospital, following a lingering illness.

Effie M. Miller was married to Willard S. Livingood, March 14, 1906 at Waukon.

Mrs. Livingood is survived by her husband; a daughter, Irene, Mrs. Virgil Carlson of Charles City; four sons, Kenneth E. of Waterloo, Milo M. of Luana, Bryon R. of Waukon, W. Sidney of Postville; a brother, Frank Miller of Waukon; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Jester of Austin, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Livingood was a life-long resident of the Postville community, a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the Women's Association. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, and by a son, Russell, who died in childhood.

Notes: Effie's parents were George Washington and Cynthia (Ogg) Miller. Allamakee co. Death Register 5, Page 406, says date of death for Effie was November 6, 1953.
