Mrs. JOHN (Lena Debner) NAGEL

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 4, 1971 from Bethlehem Presbyterian church, Ludlow township, for Mrs. John (Lena) Nagel of Waukon. The Rev. Keith Kensinger officiated at 2 p.m. Mrs. Nagel died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1971 in Waukon Veterans Memorial Hospital. She had been in poor health and was a hospital patient for a week.

Lena Debner was born Sept. 21, 1886 in Guttenberg and was a daughter of Fred and Louise Debner. She lived on a farm and moved to Waukon 26 years ago. In 1904 she married John Nagel in Allamakee county. He preceded her in death.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Alvina) Klocke, Mrs. Martin (Amanda) Stock, and Mrs. Ruben (Luella) Stock, all of Waukon, and a son Edward Nagel, also of Waukon. Twelve grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Albert (Sophia) Nagel, also survive.

Four sisters, Mrs. Durant (Minnie) Miller, Mrs. Jerry (Louise) Hueneman, Mrs. Fred (Callie) Hager and Mrs. John (Ella) Fiet preceded her in death.

Mrs. Nagel was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian church since moving to this area from Guttenberg. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Note: Lena's parents were Fred E. and Louise Sophia (Hartmann) Debner.
