ANTON NOLTING

Anton Nolting, 80, for many years a resident of Ludlow township, passed away Thursday in Waukon where he had been cared for the past several months in the home of Henry Waterman. Funeral services were held Sunday in the Zalmona church in Ludlow and burial was in the cemetery nearby.

Mr. Nolting was born in Germany and came to Ludlow township when he was a small child. He is survived by two sons, Calvin and Albert Nolting and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Siekmeier of Forest City and Mrs. Kenton Felland of Hanlontown; also surviving are a brother, Herman, Waukon and 15 grandchildren.

-source: assume it to be the Postville, Iowa paper, hand-dated 1947.

-note: Anton parents were Fred and Dorthea (Burger) Nolting from Germany. My notes say that Fred and Dorthea came to America with Anton and Herman when Herman was 5 years old. Herman lived the rest of life in Allamakee County. Herman was born Sept. 7, 1878.
