Funeral services for Jane Ruckdaschel were held Thursday, Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Jane Amelia Ruckdaschel, daughter of Kenneth and Agnes (Olson) Ellis, was born Feb. 5, 1931 at Clermont. She died Jan. 20 in Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

She was baptized in February, 1931 at Clermont and was confirmed in September, 1946 at a country church near her home in Wisconsin. Jane attended the Willis Country School, the Marshfield, WI High School and graduated from Postville High School.

July 3, 1950 she married Lyle F. Ruckdaschel. They had two children. They farmed on Lyle's family farm until 1960, where Jane had continued to live.

Surviving are a son, Rick and his wife, Lorna, of Waterloo, a daughter, Tonya and her husband, Robert Valley of Postville, 5 grandchildren, her father, Kenneth Ellis of Postville, 2 brothers, Eugene and his wife, Karen of Clermont and Dale and his wife, Connie of Elgin, 3 sisters, Doris and her husband, Harold Meyer, Donna and her husband, Bill Harris (Sr.) and Betty and her husband, Milo Helgerson, all of Postville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, who died June 2, 1982, her mother, Agnes, who died July 6, 1983.

Jane had been employed at the Postville School, Casey's and for the last few years, at the Farmers Store.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and VFW Auxiliary.

A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, January 22 at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home by the V.F.W Auxiliary.

Casket bearers were Dan Ellis, Bruce Helgerson, Greg Helgerson, Terry Meyer, Brad Harris and Mike Ellis.
