MRS. DELORMA SAWYER CALLED TO HER REWARD
Helen M. Russell was born August 31, 1866, at St. Lawrence, New York, and passed away at Onalaska, Wis., April 19, 1928.
At the age of five years she came with her family and spent the remainder of her life in this vicinity.
She was married April 14, 1887, to Delorma F. Sawyer at Luana, Iowa. He preceded her in death November 20, 1923.
To this union were born seven children -- Paul M., who died November 13, 1920, and Homer D., who died March 11, 1926. Those who survive to mourn her loss are -- Charles C. of Emmett, Idaho; Lyle R. of Wennett, Montana; Eudora E. of Creston, Montana; Donald W. of Hoquaim, Wis., and Mrs. Ernest L. Gould of Tomah, Wis., with whom she made her home since her illness; also seven grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Homer D. Russell of Chicago, and many other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Waukon and of the Woman's Literary society.
A faithful, loving wife and mother and a consistent, earnest christian, patient and cheerful all through a lingering and painful illness, a fact that makes her more deeply mourned and which endeared her to everyone who cared for her. It is a comfort to know that her suffering is over and that she is at rest. Her presence among us will be missed, but her influence for good will live on and on. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church in Waukon last Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment was made in the Hardin cemetery.
