Funeral services will be held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville (today) Wednesday, January 20 at 1:30 p.m. for Louis Schlee who died Sunday, January 17, 1971 at Community Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Dick Harberts will officiate.

Louis F. Schlee, son of William and Fredericka Schmidt Schlee, was born January 11, 1886 in Clayton county near Postville. He grew up in this vicinity and received his education in the rural schools around Postville. His entire life was spent in the community, where painting was his occupation.

He became a member of the Community Presbyterian Church April 6, 1950. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department.

November 15, 1916, Louis was united in marriage to Caroline Foels. She preceded him in death as did his parents, two brothers, Henry and John and a sister Adalia.

He is survived by his three children, Mrs. Verni Eberling (Loretta) of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Mrs. Edwin Gustafson (Vivian) of Little Falls, Minnesota; Mrs. Harold Dresie (Charleen) of Portland, Oregon; a brother Ed of Postville, 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Postville cemetery.
