Vivian Bertha (Twing) Fosdal Schultz

Vivian Bertha (Twing) Fosdal Schultz, daughter of Oscar Bryron and Bertha Blanche (Crye) Twing, was born on July 13, 1919 near Richland Center, Wis. She passed away Thursday, May 28, 1992 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. She was 72.

She was baptized and confirmed on November 27, 1949, by the Rev. F. W. Landdeck in St. John Lutheran Church at Boscobel, Wis. Vivian was graduated from the Muscoda (Wis.) High School, and attended a school of Cosmetology in Madison, Wis. In August of 1947 she married Ernest O. Fosdal at Boscobel, Wis. They had two sons. She worked in beauty shops in Boscobel and Prairie du Chien for several years.

On July 17, 1962 she was married to Emil Schultz, Jr. by the W. K. Bodamer in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. Following their marriage, they lived on their farm in Bloomfield Township near Castalia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ernest Olaf Fosdal, who died in 1969, and a brother, Walter Twing.

Surviving are her husband, Emil; two sons, Robert E. Fosdal of Luana and David A. Fosdal of Ithaca, N. Y.; two grandchildren, Brekka and Heather Fosdal; and a sister, Alice Rosenau of Muscoda, Wis.

Vivian became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Postville on October 7, 1962. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #238 of Postville, and had been a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 1, 1992 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Charles W. Miller officiating. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Kelly Livingood, Brekka Fosdal, Todd Schwingle, Brad Schultz, William Green and Norm Rosenau.

Honorary casket bearers were William Livingood, Gilbert Livingood, Harlan Sebastian and Loren Koenig.
