Funeral services for Velma A. Schultz were held Saturday, April 7, 1990, 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Velma Anna Marie Schultz, daughter of William and Anna (Dierking) Miene, was born July 31, 1905 near National, IA. She died April 5, 1990 in the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, IA.

She was baptized August 13, 1905 by Rev. John Graening and confirmed September 11, 1921 by Rev. E. Schmidt. She received her education in the Luana schools.

On January 27, 1955 she married Harold C. Schultz at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. She spent most of her life in the Luana and Postville areas as a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Harold, May 11, 1986; 3 brothers,Henry, William and Fred W. Miene; 2 sisters, Freda (Mrs. John Walch) and Meta (Mrs. Carl Steglich).

Survivors include many nephews and nieces.

Velma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a WELCA honor roll member. She also was a member of Bob's Creek Neighbors.

Casket bearers: John Foels, Everett Miene, James Miene, Keith Miene, Trent Miene, Bradley Schutte, Darrin Walch, Loren Walch and William Dotseth.
