Harry L. Schultz

Harry Levi Schultz, son of August Carl Henry and Dorothea Maria (Schultz) Schultz was born July 29, 1908 at Postville, Iowa. He died Wednesday, January 4, 1995 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa. He was 86 years old.

He was baptized October 11, 1908 and confirmed September 2, 1923 by the Reverend E. Schmidt. He attended school in the Postville area.

On December 25, 1931 he was married to Hazel Viola Kiesau in the Zion Lutheran Church at Waukon, Iowa. To this union three children were born.

The couple farmed in the Postville area all of their lives. Harry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, who died in 1977, a daughter who died in infancy, a son, August Schultz, four brothers, Lawrence, Roy, Elmer and Kenneth and two sisters, Velma Ohloff and Bertha Wirsching.

Surviving is a daughter, Mary Ann and her husband, Robert Bradley, of Palatine, Illinois, a daughter-in-law, DiAnn Schultz, of Postville, four grandchildren, Susan Diane (Bradley) Martin, Karen Marie (Bradley) Noeth, Christopher Aaron Schultz and Timothy Michael Schultz, a great grandson, Bradley Ryan Noeth, four sisters, Milda Waters of Highland, Indiana, Gertrude Kohl of Faribault, Minnesota, Mardella Brooks of Bentonville, Arkansas and Doris Albertson of Boise, Idaho. Two sisters-in-law, Esther Schultz of Postville and Lucille Schultz of Luana, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 7, 1995 in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. The Reverend R. Michael Brown officiated. The organist was Joann Martins.

Casket bearers were George Friederich, Raymond Friederich, LaVern Johnson, Verdine Houg, Neil Kiesau, Leonard Althouse, John Rosenbaum, Earl Schulte and Ralph Auer.

The Schutte Funeral service was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery at Waukon, Iowa.

Harry Schultz, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1995, in Good Samaritan Center after a brief illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Michael Brown. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at Schutte Funeral Home, Postville.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Bradley of Palatine, Ill., and four sisters, Milda Waters of Highland, Ind. Gertrude Kohl of Fairbault, Mn. Mardella Brooks of Bentonville, Ark., and Doris Albertson of Boise, Idaho.
