Etelka Minna Mary Schultz

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Etelka Schultz, 56, who passed away last Friday following a brief illness. Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Etelka Schultz was born in this community and was a resident here her entire life with the exception of 18 years when she was an employee in Elkader.

Etelka Minna Mary Schultz, daughter of Charles J. Schultz and Anna Thoma Schultz, was born September 20, 1895, in Grand Meadow township, Clayton county, and departed this life December 7, 1951 after a brief illness, at Postville, aged 56 years, two months and 11 days.

Miss Schultz was made a Christian through the sacrament of Holy Baptism in infancy on December 25, 1895 and was received into active membership in the Lutheran Church, also in the St. Paul's congregation of Postville, March 20, 1910. With the exception of 18 years spent as an employee in the L. D. Smith residence at Elkader, Miss Schultz was a lifelong resident of the Postville community. At the time of her death she was an employee of the Hansen & Matson Co., Postville plant.

Left to mourn her passing are four brothers: George, Cedar Rapids; Fred C., Postville; Walter, Castalia and Luver, Postville; two sisters: Elsie and Libbie Schultz, both of Postville; as well as other relatives and friends. Miss Schultz was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Ervin, Verni, and Charles, and three sisters: Lucia, Irene, and Malinda.
